We were the phone calls and the texts- sounds and words.
We were the hours, the miles, the signals- analog and digital.
We were the pixels, the picture that distorts if zoomed any further.
And we were the stars of the same constellation ,
Connected only through imaginary lines.
Never were we the shy glances, or the sweaty hands, or the wet kisses
Never the restlessness of a fleeting moment
When madness and passion entwines.
Nor the calmness of souls and bodies, that comes later.
We were not the soothing warmth of late winter nights,
Not even the refreshing gale in a mid-summer afternoon
We were nothing and we were everything
We were and we were not.
